| I need to buy some new and shiny paddles, what do people think is good out there? Mainly looking for running whitewaterey stuff :)
I'm unsure about cranks (what are your thoughts?) and like stuff cheap (if it does the job...?!) penny for your thoughts

what happened to your other new creek boat? i have been trying everyone's paddles and my favourite are the werner powerhouse, i also think that the extra cost extra weight and reduced strenght of cranks isn't worth it, but i've never struggled with wrist issues... that said, i haven't yet decided that it's worth spending the money! ainsworth K100 suck but i already own some :)

Powerhouses or players from Werner are very good paddles! May be tad on the expensive side though.

dont think my cranks are any weaker than other padlles and have survived alot, ask web about crank durability his paddles have survived the ultimate test, a test that your boat failed! I would recommend werner glass blades, they appear to damage quickly but its is only in looks and not strength, ie: they look scratched. Then again I have not owned other paddles so cant compare

I'd recommend Werners too. Have tried a few and liked them the most. Though if I could have done anything different, I would have got the Sidekicks instead of the Players, same size blade but bigger.

I've paddled with werner sidekicks for years and love them!! I personally wouldn't buy cranks cause I don't think they're worth the extra money ... once heard that they're good if you're doing lots expedition-type boating, but not necessary for the majority of paddlers, so I'd say it comes to preference.

Robsons seem to be good quality nice paddles, but cheaper than Werners (about £40 less for glass from a quick check). I like my Streamlytes, they were similar price for carbon to the glass Werners, they've lasted very well so far, only a few small chips which were easily sealed up using some epoxy resin. The other advantage over Werners or Robsons is that if you break the shaft you can put the blades onto a new shaft.

Robsons are good too, I've had a pair for about 5 years now, although the blades do seem to chip along the edges.
