| Dear Friend, I would like to take this opportunity in inviting your team to come and play next year at our 20th Franco Baschirotto Memorial Challenge Trophy which will be held at San Giorgio di Nogaro on the 11th and 12th of July 2009. We would like your team to join us here in celebrating together an important milestone in the history of canoe polo in Italy as next year will be 30 years since the sport was first introduced into the country during the late summer of 1979. For this occasion we shall be giving a specially designed tee-shirt as a gift to all the teams printed with a commemorative logo to remember this occasion by. In the course of the years many top European teams have played and won here, the likes of Kanu Club Limmer (1985) and KG Wanderfalke (1986) from Germany; LKV Rijnland (1987) and Deventer KV (2006) from The Netherlands; The Senior National Men's Team from Australia (1989); Zurich Kanu Polo (2006) and The Senior National Men's Team (2008) from Switzerland; Canoa Club Napoli (1988) Canoa San Giorgio (1992) A.S. Mariner Club (2004) and The U21 Men's National Team (2007) from Italy. Attached is a copy of the official invitation of the tournament. (obv not but it is in my email) Please keep in mind that the expiry date for your team(s) registration is limited to the 1st of March 2009.

 | According to this the deadline is the 1st December... and they're inviting "the current year’s club national champions (2008)" from 6 different countries... should this be congratulations to Warwick (your brilliance has finally been recognised) or good luck (you'll be destroyed)?!

 | Sounds a bit like the Veurne tournament we did in Belgium a few years back. Due to an unfortunate administrative error the "b" team ended up in the top league. Our first game against Spain was a 15-0 thumping, and that was the best result we achieved on the first day. It was a great laugh, but slightly demoralising.
