 | Has anyone tried a Jackson Hero or a Jackson Punk Rocker? Gonna buy me a creek boat soonish and may be interested in one of them, so wondered if anyone had any experience with them. Also, while i'm here, would anyone be able to put me up (or put up with me) for a couple of nights for the real ale festival? Cheers, Ali

 | Dom has a punk rocker at the moment, and seems to be very happy with it. You may benifit from the getting the full size rocker though as you are heavier?

 | I reckon I'm a wee bit short of 12 stone and my Rocker is lots of fun (except I've broken it). Hero looks great though, basically the same thing but with rails.

 | Haha If only I weighed more, Punk Rocker is my size. I'm only a wee 9.5 stone :( Dom maybe when i'm up for the ale fest could I give it a try on the leam or something? New Hero does look good, slightly shorter than the punk rocker, but more volumous. Other ones i'm looking at are the Dagger CFS, again short but very high volume and extremely cheap at the moment, can get one new for £400! And the Riot Sniper, a lot less sure about that one.

 | Just so happens thats almost my exact weight. Really like the feel of it, and it seems like I've got perfect weight distribution for it. I don't miss rails as much as I thought I would.
I'm right on the height limit though, as the footrest is as far as it'll go, and I may need to remove an inch of foam for comfort, but its fine as it is.
I'm sure a demo could be arranged, for exchange of a dash of beverage.

 | Cool, cheers Dom. I will be in Scotland at the same time as you guys yes, but not sure about accommodation plans yet. It seems there may be quite a contingent of old gits there and i know some already have accommodation booked. Think some of the soton guys will be up there before christmas too so am tempted to go up with them, spend xmas with my reletives and then meet up with warwick people.

 | Al were you down at the Dart this weekend? Thought I saw you on Sunday after we just got off the upper.
Never paddled a Jackson boat but if you get a hero you too could do this....

 | Yeah I was down there with southampton on one of the most disorganised trips i've ever been on. We got off the tavy the day before in the dark becuase we didn't get on til 2.30 on river that was supposed to take 2 hours, but with freshers more like 3. Then manged to lose 2 freshers as they tried to walk to the actual get out. The day of the dart the guy driving the minibus drove off without checking he had enough people because he wanted to go to a tea shop, so I was left behind wth som of the others waiting for our guys running the upper. Turned out some of their kit was on the mini bus too. And all because of licensing issues on th minibus, apparently the guys who drove it down weren't licensedon a 17 seater (according to the police who got called at 5 in the morning). Sounds lke a complete fuck up, but I had an awesome time, whisky is so the way forwards! I think i'd prefer to shit my pants and lick it off than run that!
