 | Hey guys: I think palm's idea of having a sling with small end loops is a good'n; but i wish they'd put one in each end, and wouldn't charge a riddiculous £7.95 for it. consequently i have placed an order with www.gtf.co.uk for 10 x 3m straps with a short (16mm diameter) loop in each end, at around £2.50 each. They have a breaking strain of 2000kg (significantly better than the palm ones), and are the same width, but 3m since i plan on using mine as my towing sling inbetween use as an anchor point etc. If up to 9 of you would like one of the others (10 was minimum order), then let me know! will advise when they arrive... If more than 9 of you want: shout fast and i'll up the order... yours, iain

| What do you mean Iain? I carry a long (5m) length of tape with a loop tied in each end. Probably about 4.5m total usable length once you take account of the loops and knots. Why not just tie the loops yourself? To be fair I don't want to discourage anyone from buying from you, as £2.50 each is almost certainly cheaper than buying that length of tape from Go Outdoors or wherever. Is the idea that a stitched join is stronger than a knot?

 | I'll shotgun one please: the price is too good to miss out. But I'd like to know more about what it is... :P Is it like that thick yellow strap that Jenna showed us on Saturday?

Peak River Guide Vest: Updated version of what I have. I like it a lot.
Astral Aquavest: Loads of people seem to like these, speak to Blackmore, Matt Soman etc.
Yak Kougar: Good because it's cheap and you can add a harness later if you don't want to get one straight away. Speak to Madi, Chlöe etc.

 | make sure it's: - comfy and fits well - gives you plenty of freedom movement - 50N - perhaps has a quick release harness on it (that you can remove and then attach when you feel you need it) - looks good :P - has as few snag hazards as possible - pocket for food/safety equipment I like the Palm ones that Iain and Strongman have.. The Astral ones are nice as well..
