 | Haha, excellent.
If you can't get in the weights room (you have to pay), look at the swiss ball exercise charts on the walls of the gym and find one, if there's one there. The ones I've included should strengthen your back I think.
Alternatively, put a light bar across your shoulders and bend over at the waist and straighten, making sure you don't hunch your back. It's called the 'Good Morning Exercise' for some reason. Link here: http://www.myfit.ca/exercisedatabase/viewanexercise.asp?exercise=Good+Mornings&table=exercises&ID=49 from quick google search.

 | this is more what i do for climbing than canoe but anyway... in the performance weights room theres a leg lift / pull up bar thing; 5 pullups, 1 min rest, 10 sets or untill failure, if u fail before the 5th set take longer rests. 10 leg lifts, concentrate on keeping legs dead straight and make sure your back posture is right. again 1 min rests, 10 sets, i think this is way way harder than pull ups, it burns.. also 10 pressups a day not the girly ones. this isnt too hard, its the little things that make all the difference.

 | I think it depends on how hard you find press-ups. If you are struggling to do say, a few press ups, then you will get stronger by doing them until you can do say three sets of twelve. As the number of repetitions you can do in each set increases, it becomes more about endurance and less about strength. That's how I understand it anyway.

That's how I understand it anyway. | thats true of pretty much all exercises unless you increase the resistance by increasing the weight... if you want press ups to continue increasing strength but you find them easy, put your feet on a bench or similar, i do press ups in my room with my feet on the bed, this makes it much harder

 | It may be a good idea to put a brief description of the four man zone up on the training pages to avoid having to answer questions about it halfway through a game, if everyone has an idea about how it works then we may find it runs more smoothly.
