 | on the subject of the Palermo, It's bloody hard work. You may want to have a slightly longer rest than 1minute. The Hammond is really good too.

 | this may be a silly question but are those training exercises best to do on the sea or are there better ones to do if your on sea rather than river?

 | The problem with doing it in the sea is using landmarks for certain distances , but could use buoys or something.
I don't see any problem apart from that, assuming the waves aren't too gnarly.

 | They're for flat water, river/calm sea/lake whatever. Anything is better than nothing though, so if you have to sprint around on rough sea, why not. As long as you don't get swept out and drown.
