To gauge interest. Would people be interested in starting a Warwick Uni national league team?

Given these requirements:

A squad of up to 10 members.

2 grade 4 referees.

£40 for registering the team by 30th June (If not, £100 fine).

£70 per tournament between the 10 of you if all ten go. (around 5 tournaments total)

BCU club affiliation (the club would sort that out, money might be needed).

BCU membership allowing competitions (this may be comprehensive membership).

Submit a team sheet with BCU membership details by 25th September, not neccessarily with the application.

AvatarYeah, sounds good. I guess old gits are allowed to play as there are no requirements of being a current student member?

AvatarYep, as long as they are members of the club, according to the form. Just seeing who's interested first. If loads of undergrads fancy it, then they'd get priority.

I'd be very interested, not a BCU member but I'd be willing to become one if needed (is being a member of an affiliated club not enough?)

Do you know how many competitions we would have to play in, and how far we would need to travel?

Actually just managed to answer my own questions, looking at last year's div 4 central region results, it looks like teams play four tournaments, which are mostly held in Derby.

Avatarabsolutely - ref and bcu member... i seem to remember talk of creating a national league warwick old gits team some time ago too
such a small squad is irritating - how good are they at knowing who it is that turns up and plays?

AvatarI thought you were "batting for the other side" next year Iain?

Surely can't have any of your kind playing for the venerable Warwick team (unless you prove your allegience in some kind of test of faith type thing).
