For those of you who have been following Frodo's epic adventure to circumnavigate the UK in a kayak:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/8682719.stm

I'm sure we all hope that this is just a minor set-back and Frodo can continue soon and, of course, that whichever thieving bastards are responsible get their testicles cut off.

As I said in the chat box, more info on Frodo's own site here: link

Just spoken to him and he's hoping to be back on the water soon with borrowed kit. Still must be a massive setback though. Hope the bastards get caught soon!

AvatarOn the JustGiving Website, it looks like they've raised over £100 on the back of the story...

AvatarI know it's now a couple of weeks since all this happened, but just wanted to say thanks guys for all your messages guys about this, texts and emails were / are all appreciated. UNfortunately the police didn't track down the thieves, but the main thing for me was getting all my kit back (and a bit of extra stuff through some very kind local sponsorships of replacement kit which wasn't wanted back).

During the few days following the theft, i heard many stories of similar thefts in various areas, but quite a few from the north wales area. One guy attempting to circumnavigate britain a couple of years ago had his boat stolen on the first night. The coastguard found the upturned kayak the next day drifting offshore near where it was stolen; the thief's body was still in it.

It was annoying to have mine stolen, but at least no-one died in this case.

750 miles conquered now; on the Mull of Kintyre, hoping to get to Oban in the next couple of days. Hot sunny days, southerly breeze, reasonable swell, awesome wildlife, stunning scenery, beach bbqs... any takers?! ;-)

AvatarI've now got round to Hull, and hope to get around East Anglia and onwards to Cornwall over the next 4-5 weeks. If anyone lives in the SE / South and fancies coming to say hello, it would be great to see some familiar faces. Also if you're interested in paddling as well, get in touch, if 30ish miles in a day doesn't sound too daunting... summer holidays... what else will you be doing?
