I thought I was taking the H3 to the scotland course?!? Don't mind paddling the java there then, just assumed Madi would have taken a java. To be fair, we have loads of boats that will keep you happy on the river, one more java, attak, kendo, 2 beasts, method air etc. I'm only putting my preference of a h3 down because I used it for a week in scotland so me and the boat have formed an intimate bond together.

We can discuss it when we go and pick up boats, i have now changed my mind and would quite like to take the i:3, but as robb wants this i dont know, i dont want to take the java as it is just too small and hurts to sit in it for a long period of time aka on ariver, but what ever,

Well I just like the H:3 because its big but it has hip pads and footrests, so I dont rattle about in it like the java. I dont mind too much, I know i'm going to be crap in scotland, so a nice stable boat would help me lots! Not too fussed which one it is, as long as i fit :)

Madi, I'm also happy in just about any other boat I fit in. Kingpin, the red I:3 if I'm not wearing shoes. Never tried java, but would probably be fine, one of those big red perception ones, never been in them. Have the I:3

When I was on the course several years ago, they recommended larger boats, ie creek boats (boats such as i3s and Kingpins were said to be too small). I still paddled the Kingpin both years I did it though.

I'd be happy with a Java, but I'm not bothered. A few questions: - What are food/alchamahol arrangements? (take or buy there?) - Will I need to buy a ground mat for the trip or are we sleeping on bunks? (the one I usually borrow has gone away for Easter) - Should I buy a 4 season sleeping bag or will my usual one be fine (it's been fine all other trips)? - Will I be able to be kicked out onto the M6 Junction 43 roundabout (close to Carlisle) on the way back? Matt
