| can we celebrate Latvian Midsummer? please, please, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's on the night of 23rd.. you stay up all night sitting around a bonfire, jumping over the bonfire, you also dance Latvian ceilidh and sing and drink lots and lots of beer. 23rd and 24th are national holidays in Latvia for this purpose! I'll be celebrating for sure.. so if I start singing in weird language, jumping over the fire and going round others houses asking for homemade beer and cheese, you'll at least know what's the matter... ;)

I wanted to have a chat about this up in Scotland but was too drunk to think about it. I propose we have an informal meeting after a monday session to discuss who would like to go away and then we can think of a suitable location, there is no reqason why it cant be open to everyone.

That sounds like a sensible idea - the group as a whole will have a greater knowledge of possible destinations than just the exec. Would also allow us to get a good idea of the standard and quantity of people wanting to go. Of course, as the webmonkey I have no power whatsever to allow anything to go ahead :-P

I won't be able to make the grad after canoeing cos its the joint birthday party of two of my best mates (at topB :-) ) but I would like to come on whatever is planned (given of course that it isnt so hardcore to be out of my level). I'll be at canoe before though. :-) S

I second that motion. Will the grad mind an 'organised' meeting taking place in there? People think about these questions, and try to think of answers to the other questions that may be asked at the meeting in advance.. - where they'd like to go (Uk, abroad - how far abroad?) - how much they can just about spend (obviously as little as possible is best!) So far from what I've read/been told I'm thinking French Alps are a cool idea but are there any other options?
