Yo yo yo!

We'll be running another tournament next Tuesday, 22nd November, for everyone again, everyone is welcome. This time people will be put into the teams for the upcoming Warwick Tournament, and a team for anyone who's left. Please don't be discouraged if you haven't made it in to one of the teams for the tournament. Next Tuesday will be one of the many occasions to prove whichever bunch of knob ends chose the teams that they were wrong!

Tuesdays will always be open to everyone.

Teams will be given handicaps to even up the games. E.g. Warwick A vs Warwick C might start 0-9. Warwick A need to score at least 10 goals to win. Warwick C just have to stop them scoring 9 or more goals to make the A's lose.

There is a signup on the website, on the left hand links under 'Canoe/Trips'. Being a mong I, put four signups up, only the top one should work, so sign up to that one if you want to play.

Cheers,

G

Avatarhi G,

If there's still space please could Pete and I play? sorry for late notice, been a nightmare week - wasn't sure if we'd make it and didn't want to sign up and then not show. No worries if teams are already sorted and you'd rather tell us to bugger off though!

AvatarYep Jen, you're right. It's on Tuesday, I can't count.

Jenna, you and Pete are in.

Everyone, I just sent out an e-mail confirming everything, I can't put a news post up because the website isn't working properly.

Evening all! There's a beer festival after this tournament, see SU website, some of us are going. Less importantly:

I've collected all the names of people who signed up for the tournament or told me they were coming and put you in teams. See the bottom of this e-mail.

The tournament will be very similar to Warwick Rage, but with our first go at tournament teams and handicaps to even out the games. The handicaps are bit rough, don't be patronised, prove my handicapping system is a mockery by whooping the ass of the other teams.

The first game starts at 19:20, whether the team is ready or not, so get there early, sort out your gear and get on the pitch as soon as the swimmers are out at 19:15. Those who aren't playing first will finish off sorting out the goals. The playlist will go up at 19:10 in the lifeguard office window.

Games are two halves of 5 minutes, no half time. 3 minutes is given for changeover. Only one team changes at a time, so I'm afraid if you get kit that you don't like, you'll be stuck with it for two games. This is unfortunate, but if you want to guarantee good kit, buy your own! If not, live with it.

Once again, if you are not in the team you want to be in, don't be disappointed, keep trying and practising your skills, it's been very hard choosing who goes in the A's and B's this time, and maybe the choices aren't quite right, so keep it up (that's what she said)! I'll try to mix up the teams more when we don't have a tournament coming up, so you'll be able to prove yourself as part of whichever team then!

An example of a handicapped game:
Result: Warwick Ladies 3 vs 1 Warwick C
Handicaps: +7 vs +9
Equivalent handicap: 0 vs +2
Actual result: Warwick Ladies 3 vs 3 Warwick C, a draw.

Hope that is informative enough, it's certainly long enough, wahey!
