AvatarAlright fitties,

BUCS Canoe Polo is on the 24th-25th April 2010 (weekend of week 0).

We'll be meeting at the Sports Centre at 15:00 on Friday 23rd April to load boats and kit. Arrive on time or i'll strangle you with my lasso.

We are headed to:

Hatfield Water Park,
Old Thorne Road
Hatfield
Doncaster
DN7 6EQ

We are camping on the fields behind the game lakes (so bring sleeping bag, roll mat/thermorest/insulation etc.).

Bring your own tent or sort yourself a space with somebody else on the forum thread.

If we can avoid taking the club party tent, that means less faf and a quicker get away on Sunday evening.

Bring appropriate (warm) clothes/kit. If you have cooking stoves/pans bring them. Make sure you cover all bases and bring cutlery/plate. Full kit list is on the website.

There is a meal included on the Saturday evening, you'll need a meal ticket to get this. Meals tickets come in the captains packs that Rich, Alex, Madi and G will get on Friday at 21:00.

Games start at 08:00 on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

On Saturday evening at 21:00 there's gonna be a  "Wild Wild West" party  taking place in the on-site Marquee. That means you need to get a costume ready, cowboys, indians, sheriffs, etc. etc. - be creative!

We'll arrive back late on the Sunday evening.

The teams competing in each division can be found: here
A Team = BUCS Open
B Team = Reed (Non-BUCS)
Ladies = BUCS Ladies
Old Gits = Old Boys (Non-BUCS)

Comprehensive details of the event can be found: here

There should be a referees course taking place over the weekend. This is a great chance to properly learn/refresh the rules and will improve your game skills. We don't have details yet, but email me if you're interested

The referees course isn't going to happen this year - the organisers havn't been able to find the suitable people to administer it.

Freshers, if you don't move back into halls until the Saturday make sure you've figured out how to get to the Sports Centre for 15:00 on Friday. Either get on the website and find a place to crash on Thursday night or get dropped on Campus on Friday.

There is one last BUCS training session on Thursday 22nd April 20:00 - 21:30

FINALLY: We're getting classy white polo shirts (like the black ones you'll have seen us modelling all year) - your captains have already spoken to you about this. If you are getting one, please bring a cheque for £12 made payable to UWSU, either to the session on Thursday 22nd April or on the Friday 23rd at 15:00 when we leave. (I'm sure Alex (Yellow) will love carrying your cheques round the whole weekend).

I look forward to seeing you on Friday 23rd April at 15:00 for what should be an awesome weekend.

Cheers,

Nige
Tournament Sec.

AvatarI think one had an intact nose not so long ago, but it was still fairly leaky.
